The Apprentice aired the interview stage on Wednesday as a host of Lord Alan Sugar 's trusted advisors grilled the remaining candidates leaving Rochelle Anthony and Marnie Swindells the last two standing.
In the penultimate episode, Rochelle, Marnie, Megan Hornby, Dani Donovan and Victoria Goulbourne were interviewed about their business acumen and proposed plan for Lord Sugar's investment.
Karren Brady, Claude Littner, Mike Soutar and Linda Plant were on hand to grill the remaining candidates and point out every possible flaw with their plans.
Back in the boardroom, Lord Sugar fired two candidates as he said: "The thing is Victoria there is nothing unique about your business. Frankly, you know I am not sweet on your idea I’m afraid. It’s been nice working with you, but it is with regret Victoria, that you’re fired!"
"Thank you for the opportunity, Lord Sugar, thank you Karren, thank you Tim," Victoria responded and Karren replied: "Good luck Victoria’"
Lord Sugar continued: "Coming back to you Dani, your business plan was really, really bad. You know that."
Dani hit back: "I would like to hope in this process I have proved that, even if my business plan might not be solid, I am definitely a solid businesswoman. I’ve made a profit on a business since I was 19 years old."
Lord Sugar replied: "I am pleased for you about that, I am not sure there’s going to be any extension to your time in this process. Dani, it’s been nice working with you, you’re a real bubbly character. Dani it is with regret - you’re fired."
Lord Sugar sent Marnie, Rochelle and Megan outside while he discussed with Tim Campbell and Karren who they thought should make the final two before inviting the trio back into the boardroom.
"You’re making this pretty hard for me here, my gut feeling tells me. Megan- you’re fired," Lord Sugar announced.
Megan graciously said: "I really appreciate the opportunity and everything I’ve learned here. It’s been an honour," and The Apprentice boss told the fired candidate to "keep in touch"
In the taxi, Megan said: "I might not have kept Lord Sugar sweet this time. But you know what I’m going out there and I’m going to work really hard, and I know I will be a success."
The Apprentice concludes on BBC One on Thursday at 9pm.
