The Apprentice's Carina Lepore only made £13K last year before £250K investment

The Apprentice winner Carina Lepore only raked in £13,000 last year.

Carina, 30, scooped Lord Sugar's enviable £250,000 investment to pump into her bakery Dough Artisan Bakehouse.

Now it has been revealed she only earned £13,713 from her business in the last year, in public documents obtained by The Sun.

Carina, from south London, had £22,000 credit in her bank.

The businesswoman handed more than £46,000 to credits which left her with less than £14,000.

In the hotly-anticipated final, Lord Sugar chose to run with Carina's bakery business over Scarlett Allen-Horten's recruitment idea on Wednesday.

The mother-of-one gushed about the "amazing achievement" for herself when she talked about her win.

She said: “It’s been an amazing, amazing achievement for myself.

"I came in with the mindset that I’d want to win and prove myself to Lord Sugar, Karren Brady and Claude Littner- that I am hard working, I wanted it so bad and I’m glad it was portrayed and I’m sitting here now.”

Lord Alan Sugar said: “Having said all that, shops, I’ve never had - the only thing going for you is that it’s food and that when you look at the high street these days that’s all it’s packed with – food.

"Scarlett - two past winners are recruitment companies and do I want to throw more eggs into that basket. I like the idea of more bread.”

Carina and Scarlett went head-to-head to produce a television advert for their respective businesses.

Lord Sugar enlisted the help of 250 experts to judge their business ideas.
