The Apprentice's Akeem could 'talk himself' to the final, says body language expert

The Apprentice contestant Akeen Bundu-Kamara already has a chance of winning the whole show, according to a body language expert.

Akeem, 29, is a strategy manager from London who said he loves 'being around others'.

The hit BBC series returned to our screens on Thursday night with 16 candidates competing in hopes of winning a £250,000 investment into their business as well as a 50/50 partnership with Lord Alan Sugar.

And now, body language expert Darren Stanton claims that Akeem's "communication skills" and his ability to "articulate himself" has saved him.

On behalf of Betfair Casino, Darren said: "Akeem found himself in deep water in the first episode. Analysing his body language, he has some great communication skills and can articulate himself very well verbally - and this may have saved him.

"He seems the sort of likeable, open candidate that could talk his way to the final. However, as we know, Lord Sugar and his counterparts are not for having the wool being pulled over their eyes easily, so Akeem will need to impress in tasks to come."

Meanwhile, Darren believes that Amy Anzel needs to start 'listening and learning' from her fellow candidates in order to progress.

"Lord Sugar is looking for a partner, not a boss – and he appears to already be seeing through her," the expert added.

Last night's episode was already a whirlwind, with Harry Mahmood becoming the first candidate to be fired after his questionable logo led to the team's loss.

Candidates were tasked with creating a brand and ad campaign for a new cruise line.

The girls were led by Kathryn Louise Burn - who seemed like the perfect choice as she had worked for Virgin Holidays Cruises in the past - and they settled on the idea of an adults-only cruise for friends.

The boys' team was led by Akshay Thakrar and they decided on a target marker of health and wellbeing.

The team decided to call the ship Seaquinity and the brand name Never-Ending Nautical - though Karren Brady pointed out that the 'never-ending' name seemed to imply a nightmare.

Yet it was the logo that seemed to be the ultimate sore point, which was supposed to show a man turning into a wave.

However, it ended up looking more like a rotting banana or a turd.

Karren said: "They've come up with this half-man, half-rotten banana logo but where is their brand name? It's completely ludicrous that they haven't included that in the final proposition."

The girls ended up winning thanks to their 'overall synergy' with their campaign. Lord Sugar said the boys' campaign felt 'disjointed'.

Better luck next time.
