The Apprentice reject Nick Showering admits he had feelings for one of his co-stars

The Apprentice reject Nick Showering has revealed that he had feelings for one of his fellow candidates - though he admitted that he was too nervous to ask his co-star out.

The finance manager, 31, was among the candidates vying for an investment from Lord Alan Sugar, 74, on the latest series of the BBC business competition.

He however was fired from the process during last night's episode, following his team's failure to win a task which involved them hosting a corporate awayday at Silverstone.

And following his departure from the show, Nick has opened up about his experience on the show, even revealing that a fellow candidate had "caught his eye" whilst competing.

He spoke about this with the Daily Star, telling the outlet that although he had fancied one of his co-stars on the show, he had been too nervous to act on his feelings.

Nick said: "Someone caught my eye in there but I didn't act on it." He said that they "probably had no idea," admitting that he is often "very shy" when it comes to romance.

The qualified accountant described himself as "absolutely terrible" and "the worst" when it comes to this, adding: "I fancy people and I don't know what to do about it."

He further commented that "trouble" with fancying a co-star is that candidates are "super professional" and that the show is "very strict about these kinds of things."

Nick - who said his celebrity crush is actor Alicia Vikander, 33 - noted that it's a "business show" and so candidates "have to be serious," though he hasn't ruled out romance.

He hasn't given up hope about potentially dating the fellow candidate - who was not named - with him commenting to the outlet: "Maybe they will read this!"

His admission comes after Nick posted about his experience on the BBC competition series on Instagram last night, after viewers saw his departure from the process.

He wrote in the post: "I leave the process knowing that I can't dance or cook, but can have a bit of fun. What a ride. Loved every second of it. Gutted not to go further."

Nick further commented: "I gave it everything, unfortunately that wasn't enough. Thank you for the support and kind words. It has meant a lot."

The Apprentice continues next Thursday on BBC One from 9pm. You can catch-up through the BBC iPlayer.
