The Apprentice favourite Nick Showering has fans questioning his identity as they wonder whether he is working 'undercover'

The Apprentice viewers have shared light-hearted conspiracy theories regarding contestant Nick Showering as they believe he is not a 'real person'.

31-year-old qualified accountant Nick, who lives in London, has been working in the 'shadow' of his family business for some time, and aims to make a name for himself in the flavoured water industry should his time on the show be successful. Before appearing on the show, Nick said he is a 'people person who has lots of fun', and plans to beat the competition by 'killing them with kindness'.

And whilst Nick has stayed in the competition for seven weeks, some viewers are questioning whether he is a real contestant, due to his mannerisms. They've taken to social media to share some theories.

Tweeting a picture of Nick, Helen joked: "There is nothing you can say to convince me this man isn’t undercover. Not sure yet if he’s a comedian, journalist or in witness protection that went too far #TheApprentice" Meanwhile, Marth said: "there's absolutely NO WAY that nick is a real person and not a character he's playing #TheApprentice"

Anthea commented: "Nick is a meme and not a real person #theapprentice" For this week's challenge, finance manager Nick worked with Team Diverse to design the interior and exterior of a driverless pod. Unfortunately, Diverse did not fare well, losing the task as a result of Nick's teammate Sophie Wilding's confusing branding.

Fans watched with bated breath as Lord Sugar raised his famous firing finger to Nick, before ultimately giving Sophie the sack due to her poor design visions. With Nick being told to return to the house, viewers have admitted that they are excited to see him again in the next episode, saying he is a 'comedian'.

Not only has Nick been making fans of the show laugh every Thursday night with each episode, but the contestant has also gained nearly 50,000 followers on TikTok. Posting TikToks about his experience on the show, Nick has garnered a whopping one million likes across all videos, with fans diving into the comments to show support for their favourite contestant.

Nick will be back on our screens in next week's episode of The Apprentice, which airs on Thursday, February 25, at 9pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
