The Apprentice contestants' appearance sparks concern among fans

The Apprentice has finally returned to our screens for a new series, and the show kick-started with an international business trip.

Eighteen new entrepreneurs have been selected to impress Lord Sugar, in the hopes of winning the programme and getting their hands on a £250,000 prize.

Due to covid restrictions preventing some of the bigger challenges from going ahead over the last few years, Lord Sugar decided to "come back with a bang" and fly the entrepreneurs across the world to Antigua to celebrate the new series.

But just minutes into the first episode, many viewers at home raised some concerns. It came shortly after the contestants entered the boardroom to meet Alan Sugar and Karen Brady.

Each hopeful was introduced, as they were told they'd soon be jetting off. But the appearances of some contestants led to viewers worrying.

Taking to Twitter, Gemma said: "Have they all been crying? Why do they all have red eyes?", while Lindsey said: "All their eyes are bloodshot? I reckon this was take 224937464", and Zeinab said: "Why are all their eyes red!!!"

It comes after a former star of the show revealed its "intense" filming schedule including six-hour back-to-back interviews which left her "in tears". Camilla Ainsworth, who came second on the programme in 2018, warned it is gruelling, with 3am starts and a maximum of five hours sleep per night.

Maybe this year's contestants are already tired.
