The Apprentice 2022 winner revealed as Harpreet Kaur after close final

The Apprentice 2022 winner has been confirmed, as Harpreet Kaur won the BBC series and the investment from Lord Alan Sugar.

As well as securing the £250,000 for her business, Harpreet gained a business partner out of Lord Sugar too as she stormed to victory.

It was only Kathryn remaining in her way, as the two ladies went head-to-head for the final in a bid to come out on top.

But ultimately, Harpreet won over Sugar and his panel, with him deciding to invest in her sweet treat business, Oh So Yum!.

The dessert parlour, available in store and online, offers a range of baked goods and sweets.

Speaking of her win as the news was revealed, the candidate couldn't believe it but said it was a "dream come true".

She explained: "I cannot believe Lord Sugar has chosen me to be his business partner!

"I have dreamed of this moment, and it just completely proves that if you work hard and you believe in yourself, dreams do come true."

It looked like it could go either way at one point though, as Sugar called the finalists in for their final boardroom meeting.

It's here that he explained his concerns for both businesses, with Kathryn wanting investment for her online pyjama store, which features matching sets for all.

As he weighed up his decision and told the girls what he was thinking, he listened as they both gave one last desperate pitch each for his support behind their businesses.

Lord Sugar then said: "It is a very, very difficult situation for me… Harpreet I’m not sure whether this business is scalable or whether you are trying to do too much and that’s what I’m worried about at the moment.

"Kathryn, I’m concerned on the longevity of it, and the popularity of it, it’s very hard, this is difficult for me…"

He went on, and shared of his decision: "A lot of the companies that I invest in are a start from scratch situation, basically what Kathryn is proposing, so ladies, I think that I’ve decided now…

"Harpreet, you’re going to be my business partner."

The Apprentice is available to watch now on BBC iPlayer.
