The Apprentice 2018: Sarah Ann Magson fired after failing to keep Lord Sugar sweet during Christmas chocolate task

Sarah Ann Magson has become the latest candidate to leave The Apprentice, narrowly missing out on a place in the final five.

Magson was given the boot by Lord Sugar after producing “tasteless” treats during a disastrous Christmas chocolate making task.

Lord Sugar, who branded their product “Carry on Christmas”, blasted the 37-year-old’s communication skills before pointing his firing finger in her direction.

But the solicitor, from Teesside, made it clear she wasn’t happy with the decision as she blasted the verdict and insisted it won’t stop her career.

Magson said: “The failure of this task was down to the branding. That was Daniel and Camila, one of them should have gone.

“I’m gutted to be leaving the process but that’s not going to stop me. I’m just going to continue and be an incredibly successful business woman.”

The major retailer the team had pitched to slammed them for creating a “sexist and sleazy” product with their Santa Choco Seduction, branded by Camilla Ainsworth, who had managed the task, with Daniel Elahi.

The red box, which was supposed to follow the naughty-or-nice festive theme, featured a scantily clad female Santa, much to the distaste of pretty much everyone who came into contact with it.

During the market research, several potential customers suggested that the box was a "top shelf" product, with consumers pleased at the taste - although they weren't the original flavour the team had aimed for.

In the end, the trio only managed the sell 750 units to the online retailer, in contrast to Team Collaborative who shifted 7,000.

The Apprentice is on BBC One, December 12 at 9pm
