The Apprentice’s Jasmine Kundra has said she is “heartbroken” after being fired by Lord Sugar, admitting that she doesn’t “understand why she was fired”.

Kundra, 34, was booted from the competition by Lord Sugar after a disappointing run of choices during the art curation and selling task in a tense bottom three with Sabrina Stocker and Tom Bunday.

And the learning and development manager confessed that she still didn’t understand why she was fired, even after watching the episode back.

Speaking about her exit, Kundra told Standard Online: “What am I doing here?! If I’m honest, I’m really heartbroken about being fired. I didn’t really see it coming.

“I was hoping that when I would see it back that I would get some closure and understand why I was fired but I really still don’t understand what happened.

“I bought back bottom three based on performance on the task. Sabrina did sell, I sold two works of art and Tom sold nothing. So that stats told the picture of who deserved to go home.”

During the task, Kundra clashed with Bunday over their communication with clients as they both tried to take the lead.

But, as the project manager, Kundra admitted that she wouldn’t put the two of them on the same team were they to do the task again as they ended up “blocking each other”.

Things remained frosty between the pair after the boardroom when Kundra begrudgingly shook his hand, after a snide comment to Stocker about whether her hug was “genuine”.

Explaining the atmosphere between the two women, Kundra said: “It was bitter disappointment and for Sabrina and I we get on very very well off-task. We’re really good friends but certain personalities just don’t work well together.

“We clashed on the airline task, we clashed in the gardening. And I felt her commiseration was disingenuous in that moment.”

The Apprentice continues Wednesday at 9pm on BBC One.
