The Apprentice 2018: Fired Sarah Ann Magson says Baroness Karren Brady 'felt sorry for her'

The Apprentice’s latest casualty Sarah Ann Magson has joked that Baroness Karren Brady “felt sorry for her” during the task.

Magson was given the boot by Lord Sugar following the Christmas chocolate making task, having produced “tasteless” chocolates.

During the task, Magson was sent to the kitchen by project manager Camilla Ainsworth to work on the chocolates, picking the flavour combinations and producing them.

But the lawyer ran against the clock and failed to measure out her ingredients, leading a concerned Brady to strike up a chat.

Speaking to Standard Online after her exit, Magson teased that Lord Sugar’s aide took pity on her and decided to keep her company in the kitchen.

Magson said: “I think she may have felt slightly sorry for me at one point all on my own so she spoke to me.

“Time pressures got the better of me and, towards the end, I just thought I’d pipe it but obviously I hadn’t measured them out. I’m not a cook, I did my best.”

Gone: Sarah Ann Magson vowed that getting fired would not stop her in business (BBC)

Magson also admitted that she thinks she was fired because Lord Sugar didn’t see her “business partner potential”, instead of her overall performance on the task.

She said: “Lord Sugar is looking at who he can invest in to be his next business partner. We all did a bad job on this task. Daniel and Camilla with the packaging, I don’t think they came up with a very good idea with the images and wording. Equally, my flavouring of the chocolate wasn’t very nice.

“We all had a hand in the failure of the task and I think, when it came down to it, Lord Sugar was really looking at who he could see as his potential business partner.”

The Apprentice is on BBC One, Wednesday at 9pm
