This was the scene in SA1 in Swansea on Tuesday morning after large amounts of bottles and cans were left scattered all over the floor.
A video posted on social media shows numerous empty bottles, cans and plastic cups left lying on the floor close to bars that had been open for takeaway drinks in Kings Road.
People have described the mess as "disgusting" with some calling the state of SA1 at the moment as "shameful".
Businesses such as The River House, Positano Italiano and bar, Gin Ne Sais Quoi, have recently opened for takeaway drinks.
Leon Hogan, owner of Positano Italiano and bar Gin Ne Sais Quoi said businesses in SA1 had been working together by employing litter pickers to clean the area.
However, he said that when they shut at 8PM, there were still huge crowds gathering outside.

"It's disappointing that people leave their rubbish anywhere when there are bins provided," he added.
"SA1 as a whole have taken quite huge steps to combat the amount of rubbish being left.
"When we close up at 8PM people do stay around, we have been told that people have been there since 11:30pm getting alcohol from Tesco and Sainsbury's and congregating in the area."
Mr Hogan said the litter pickers worked during the hours that the premises were open and they came back in the morning.
He said the mess had now been cleaned up.
"We don't want this area to be messy, we are dong our best to make sure it is clean and tidy.
"We do try and keep on top of all the litter outside but the issue we have is when we close.
"People still have their drinks after we close, we come back the next morning and it's a mess and we can't do anything in that time."
He said he didn't want people to gather around the area.
"All the benches are tapped off outside Positano and Gin Ne Sais Quoi.
"What we are doing is no different to what supermarkets are doing. We want to try and make a living, it's a difficult time at the moment.
"There isn't an issue with takeaway alcohol, a lot of places are doing it in England and Wales, we are following the Government's advice," he added.
It's a problem that appears to be happening in many locations across Wales during lockdown.
Bottles, cans, barbecues, food packets, plastic bags and other detritus could be seen on various Welsh beaches in recent weeks including Langland Bay, Swansea beach and Aberavon Beach.
One resident who lives in the SA1 area and has asked not to be named, claimed groups of people now came there to get takeaway beer and then crowded outside her home.
"I feel like a prisoner in my own home," she said.
The 24-year-old added that she was now considering moving.
"I can't get to my front door without having abuse being thrown at me. I've never felt so much anxiety from living in my home.
"There's hundreds of people outside these buildings, I have to go through these crowds to get home.
"If it wasn't lockdown then it wouldn't be acceptable to drink on the streets so why is it okay now.
"There's litter everywhere, people have no consideration for others."
