The amount Celtic will pocket from Jeremie Frimpong sell-on detailed

The windfall Celtic will receive whenever Jeremie Frimpong is sold by Bayer Leverkusen has reportedly been revealed.

The Dutch right-back was sold to the Bundesliga giants in 2021 after just 18 months at Parkhead.

Working under Neil Lennon at the time, Leverkusen paid £11m for the 22-year-old.

It's believed Celtic inserted a 30 percent sell-on fee as part of the deal to allow Frimpong to leave the club.

Now, it has been revealed by Sky Germany that the defender has a release clause of €40m (£34.7m) in his Leverkusen contract.

This means, should any interested club opt to trigger that fee, then Celtic will land a tidy £6.2m from the sell-on.

It's believed that Manchester United are keen on the Dutch international, while Arsenal and Real Madrid have also shown a degree of interest.

So far this season for Xabi Alonso's side Frimpong has six goals and seven assists to his name.

Meanwhile, Tottenham have stepped up their interest in signing Jota from Al-Ittihad, according to a report.

It's believed that Ange Postecoglou will look to reunite with the 25-year-old, who he of course signed for Celtic during his time in Glasgow.

The 25-year-old's £25m move to Saudi Arabia has not worked out, with a distinct lack of game time. He fell foul of the club's requirement to trim their squad due to league regulations regarding their foreign player quota.

New boss Marcelo Gallardo did hand the Portuguese star a start in the AFC Champions League against FC AGMK recently.

However, despite Jota being given a chance to impress on the continent, it's said that the Saudi Pro League champions are open to allowing him to leave on loan.

Rumours have been swirling that Celtic would be interested in having him back in order to help him get his career back on track.
