The alternative Premier League table that has Manchester United top - and Man City fifth

Manchester United have so far endured an indifferent start to their Premier League season.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side currently sit seventh in the Premier League table, having won four, drawn four and lost four of their opening 12 games of the season.

And as a result, United currently sit nine points adrift of a place in the top four, with arch-rivals Manchester City currently occupying the final Champions League place.

Things, however, could be very different for Solskjaer’s side, with a new, alternative league table, placing United top of the pile.

The table, published on social media, places United top after 12 games this season if those games had ended at half time.

For instance, had United’s games away at Wolves and Southampton finished after 45 minutes, then Solskjaer’s side would have collected six points, not the two they eventually ended up having to settle for.

Likewise the matches against Arsenal and Liverpool at Old Trafford, with United claiming 25 points in total, two points more than second place Liverpool.

Chelsea and Aston Villa make up the top four, Manchester City find themselves in fifth, while at the bottom, Southampton, Norwich and Watford make up the bottom three.
