The alternative League One table that has Sunderland, Ipswich Town and Portsmouth in the top three

It was another entertaining weekend of games in League One.

Fans up and down the country packed out grounds to cheer their team on in what is turning into an exciting season.

Attendances are a source of endless debates among fans as to which club is the biggest in the division but - as we all know - crowds do not win you points.

Bristol Rovers occupy a mid-table position in terms of average attendances, with 7,426.

The top three teams in the average attendance table dwarf the rest of the sides in League One, however.

Sunderland still manage to attract an impressive average of over 30,000 fans in League One, with Ipswich Town and Portsmouth both averaging over 15,000 themselves.

Just one other team averages over 10,000 in League One, with Bolton Wanderers managing to attract an average of over 11,000 fans.

Here is the League One average attendance table, via Football Web Pages.
