The Alfredo Morelos transfer verdict that will excite Crystal Palace and Newcastle fans

Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos has the quality to succeed in the Premier League.

That's the verdict of former Rangers midfielder Ronald de Boer, who has been speaking about the Colombian international and what he could offer clubs in the English top flight, amid links with several sides, including Crystal Palace and Newcastle United.

Morelos has been in fine form for Rangers, scoring 29 goals in 46 league and cup appearances for Steven Gerrard's side this season.

His form has led to speculation over his future, with Goal claiming earlier this month that Newcastle, Palace, Aston Villa and Leicester City are among the potential suitors for the 23-year-old.

Who's played the most Premier League minutes?

He has also reportedly attracted attention from clubs across Europe, including the likes of La Liga duo Sevilla and Valencia.

But de Boer has told TalkSPORT that he believes Morelos would thrive in the Premier League, despite his record of seven red cards since the beginning of last season.

“I think he would do well in the Premier League because he’s a fighter,” the brother of former Palace boss Frank de Boer said.

“He is a bit crazy – there are not so many strikers who get so many red cards, but he’s a great player.

“He loves his goals, he’s a predator. I think he’s been a great signing for Rangers. He can do well and I can understand [why] the clubs of the Premier League are interested in him.”
