The Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain comments that serve as a warning for Spurs ahead of Liverpool test

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain insists that Liverpool have room for improvement ahead of their game against Tottenham this weekend, despite their impressive start to the season.

The Reds continued their fine start to the new campaign last night (Wednesday), winning 4-1 away against Genk in the Champions League.

In addition, Jurgen Klopp's men are flying high at the top of the Premier League table, with eight wins and one draw from their nine games so far, leaving them six points clear of second-placed Manchester City.

But former Arsenal midfielder Oxlade-Chamberlain, who scored twice for the Reds last night, said that Liverpool could still improve for the game against Spurs.

“We can take confidence from the whole season, not just this game," Oxlade-Chamberlain said, speaking to BT Sport after the win in Belgium.

“We had a lot to improve on from the game at the weekend, same again tonight. But at the minute we’re getting results which are good and we can still improve. We’ll take a lot from this game.

“I’m sure the manager has got a lot of points he’ll be getting at us about to improve for the weekend, because we’re going need to get them right to put on a good performance and get the right result at the weekend.”

Liverpool host Spurs at Anfield on Sunday, with Mauricio Pochettino's men looking to build on their 5-0 victory against Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League.
