The Alchemist is giving away free cocktails

The Alchemist is giving away free cocktails - for a good cause.

The cocktail bar and restaurant has teamed up with Ketel One and longtime brand partner Foodinate to gift customers a free cocktail in exchange for food to raise awareness of rising food poverty.

In the current climate, food banks have seen a rise in usage with 3% of families in the UK using them during the cost of living crisis. This will be the third year of The Alchemist's swap shop initiative in a bid to raise items for 14 food banks across the UK.

Launched in 2019, the brand collected 3,000 donations in its first year. The Alchemist has been partnered with Foodinate since May 2018 and provide hot and nourishing meals for those in need in local communities when guests order any menu items marked with the Foodinate fork logo.

To date The Alchemist has provided just over 155,000 meals for the social enterprise. Every guest who donates a non-perishable food item will receive an Alchemist cocktail, ‘The Colour Changing One’ or the ‘Shade Switcher’ Mocktail.

Hannah Plumb, culture and talent director at The Alchemist said: “I’m really excited to be launching our third Swap Shop in partnership with Foodinate and Ketel One. Foodinate, a longtime friend of The Alchemist are an incredible initiative tackling food poverty across the country, which is an issue we’re passionate about at The Alchemist.

“The Swap Shop is a fun and engaging way to encourage guests to donate to their local food banks, who this year need our support now more than ever.”

Swap Shop will be available in all of the bar and restaurant's venues on Jun, 13. More than one donation is welcomed.
