The alarming stat that Maurizio Sarri must put right when Chelsea take on Manchester United

Chelsea may still be in the running for the top four spots in the Premier League - but there's a worrying stat that Maurizio Sarri must put right if he's still in the job next season.

After the Blues' 2-0 defeat at the hands of Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday, Sarri's side have lost their last six games they've played against the teams away in the 'Top Six' this season.

That run started with Manchester United followed by Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal, Manchester City again and then finally Liverpool.

Chelsea talking points: Another shocking Higuain performance & Hudson-Odoi's quiet afternoon

The Blues have one game left away from home against a Top Six side this season and that comes against Manchester United at the end of the month in what will be a massive game in both team's mission to finish in the Champions League places this year.

It's a stat that will have to change next season if Sarri is still in the job at Stamford Bridge - getting points at home is all well and good but if Chelsea want to finish in the top four they have got to start getting points against their rivals away from home.

They've done well at home - they beat Manchester City and drew against Liverpool but their problem comes away from west London, something that was highlighted as they were brushed aside by the Reds at Anfield on Sunday.

Chelsea currently occupy the final top four spot but that could all change later this evening when Arsenal take on Watford, with the Blues three points ahead but having played two games more and with a worse goal difference.

Manchester United are also breathing down their necks as they sit two points behind the Blues but with just one game in hand.
