Pupils from a primary school in Moston have dedicated a heartwarming song to footballer Marcus Rashford after his successful free school meal campaign.
The Manchester United star fronted a campaign to extend free school meal vouchers into the school holidays.
He has since been awarded an MBE for his services to ending child food poverty, a Pride of Britain Award and a City of Manchester award.
Now Year 6 pupils at Lily Lane Primary School on Kenyon Lane have said thank you to their hero - in their own amazing way.
With the help of teaching assistants Nichola Neild and Alison Armstrong, the pupils wrote their own lyrics to Naughty Boy and Emile Sandé's hit 'Wonder'.
They changed the words to thank the striker for his hard work.
Some of the lyrics include: 'Marcus Rashford you, stopped the children's hunger, you are full of light, you are full of wonder' and 'Rashford is our saviour'.
Ms Neild said the pupils, who key learners or children of key workers, came up with the idea for the song themselves.
They have been preparing for a 'virtual poetry party' and wanted to get Rashford involved.
"They changed the lyrics themselves, we sing 'Wonder' in school quite a lot anyway so they came up with the idea of changing the lyrics", Ms Neild told the M.E.N .
Headteacher Julia Clark said the children have been 'brilliant' throughout lockdown.
"Last week we were thanking people, we made posters for the NHS, and then the children decided they wanted to thank Marcus Rashford", Ms Clark added.
"Lots of them wanted to thank their mums as well and they've made a Covid busters song too which is brilliant."
Rashford, from Wythenshawe, was praised after he persuaded the Prime Minister to give 1.3 million underprivileged kids free school meals during the summer holidays.
He dedicated his MBE to his mum, saying: "As a young black man from Wythenshawe, never did I think I would be accepting an MBE, never mind an MBE at the age of 22.
"This is a very special moment for myself and my family, but particularly my mum who is the real deserving recipient of the honour.
"The fight to protect our most vulnerable children is far from over."
