The ACT's state of alert has been amended and will apply only to rural and remote areas.
Urban and residential areas of the territory will no longer be under the state of alert.
The state of alert will still apply to Tharwa and Uriarra Village and other remote properties in the ACT.
Minister for Police and Emergency Services Mick Gentleman said the decision had been made due to easing weather conditions, recent rainfall and progress on containing fires near the ACT border.
"We have not taken the decision to amend the declaration lightly and have acted on the expert advice of ESA Commissioner Georgeina Whelan based on current conditions and our readiness to respond to fire risk near our border," he said.
