The abysmal Swansea City player ratings as midfield duo sum up grim Millwall defeat

FREDDIE WOODMAN 7 - Star Man

Terrific save to deny Murray Wallace, although the Millwall man was offside anyway. Denied Connor Mahoney with his legs too. Commanded his box superbly and dealt well with the aerial threat of the Lions. Nothing he could do about the goal.

KYLE NAUGHTON 5

Got forward pretty well and was largely untroubled on the right until the game opened up late on.

BEN WILMOT 6

Brilliant block to keep out Mahoney's shot five minutes before half time. Did the basics well enough, which so many others didn't.

MIKE VAN DER HOORN 5

Tried to give his side some impetus with runs from the back but couldn't really get his side going. Willing to play it sideways far more than Steve Cooper will have perhaps liked.

JAKE BIDWELL 4

Sent here, there and everywhere by Jed Wallace and Mahoney at times as Millwall caused problems on Swansea's left flank. Put in a few decent deliveries at the other end, but it was a tough afternoon.

GEORGE BYERS 3

So many routine passes went astray. Couldn't provide the spark needed when in advanced positions and far too guilty of losing the ball aswell.

MATT GRIMES 3

Similar to Byers in truth. Uncharacteristically sloppy in the opening half, conceding possession cheaply on more than one occasion. A real off day for the captain.

NATHAN DYER 4

A few decent attacks went through the winger, and Swansea may have had more joy had they attacked Millwall's left. Struggled after the restart and was subbed in the 70th minute.

BERSANT CELINA 4

Cut a frustrated figure at times as he looked to drag Swansea into gear. Curled an effort at goal on the half hour mark in an attempt to get the home side going. Subbed in the second half.

WAYNE ROUTLEDGE 4

Couldn't really get anything going in the first half as Swansea proved to be the victims of their own downfall. Hooked at the break.

ANDRE AYEW 5

Threw himself into battle in attempt to rally the troops, although his efforts were to no avail, with the Ghanaian drilling an effort as Bartosz Bialkowski in the first half. Plenty of endeavour but no reward.

Subs

Kristoffer Peterson (for Routledge) - Looked lively and made Swansea's best chance himself, although he was well denied. Decent showing. 6

Borja Baston (for Dyer) - Great chance to nick a point at the death. Left bruised for his troubles. 5

Sam Surridge (for Celina) - Must have thought he had an assist for Borja late on. 5
