The abusive note left for emergency crews as they attended a medical incident

Emergency crews were stunned when an angry neighbour left an insulting note on their vehicle as they attended a medical incident.

Medics had parked a marked rapid response vehicle in front of a property while crews were inside dealing with the emergency.

However, the East of England Ambulance Service Trust (EEAST) team were astonished to see the note fixed to the response car, EssexLive reports .

Can ambulances park on double yellow lines?

It warned the medical team "never to park in front of the driveway" and referred to them as "blind idiots."

Staff at the ambulance trust shared the note on social media - but part of it had to be cropped due to inappropriate language.

They tweeted: "This note was left on the windscreen of a marked rapid response vehicle while a member of Team EEAST attended a medical emergency.

"We've had to crop the note due to inappropriate language.

"Is your parking space really more important than a neighbour's life? #DontChoosetoAbuse."

In a statement EEAST confirmed the event happened in Luton on Sunday, (August 4), and that it posted the note to make the general point that their job is about saving lives.

Emergency vehicles can park anywhere, with the Department for Transport stating that any vehicle being used for emergency purposes is exempt from parking fines.

Paramedics try to avoid parking in such a way that will cause a nuisance to other road users, but when there is emergency they can park in the best available space.

Last year a woman from Stoke-on-Trent was fined £120 with £135 costs and £30 victim surcharge for verbally abusing an ambulance crew and leaving a threatening note on a vehicle.
