There are plenty of abandoned stations around the UK.
But some are so hidden that you'd never come across them unless you knew where to look.
Behind the residential streets of Croydon lies a disused railway station that has laid dormant and unused for over 100 years, MyLondon reports.
Those who live in the area will probably have come across it, but for any visitors outside the area you really would have no idea it even existed.
The station was known as Spencer Road Halt railway station, and still lies down a pathway off Spencer Road and Birdhurst Rise.
The station was built in 1906 and formed part of the Woodside and South Croydon Joint Railway.
The stop was built with the aim that passengers could make a short ten-minute walk to South Croydon station and link onto Brighton line for a trip by the seaside.
But the station never took off and it was closed down just nine years later in 1915.
However what was considered a small loss in 1915 has turned into a massive win for those keen to hunt out a real abandoned railway station.
As you approach the disused station down the alleyway, you reach a small wooded area and for a moment you would be forgiven for thinking you had made a wrong turn.
However, if you persevere you will suddenly turn into area with an old large metal green pedestrian bridge standing in front of you.
It is quite amazing.
And then if you look carefully beneath the bridge and through the undergrowth you will see the old railway lines.
What's even more fun is that you can climb the bridge and look down at the old line and see it disappear into the darkened woods.
