The Aaron Ramsey transfer decision Juventus could face this summer one year on from Arsenal exit

Juventus may be forced to offload former Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey this summer - but only if they are unsuccessful in their efforts to sell Cristiano Ronaldo.

That is according to a report from Italian newspaper Il Messagero.

The Italian giants are reportedly needing to raise funds due to the lack of profits they have been able to make because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Italy has been one of the world's most badly affected countries by the COVID-19 crisis, with the country having recorded over 100,000 cases of the virus and over 11,000 people have sadly lost their lives.

The most expensive Premier League transfers ever

This, of course, like it has proven the case across Europe, has forced the Serie A campaign to be suspended, meaning clubs have missed out match-day revenue and a whole host of other profiting avenues.

And in an attempt to recoup some of the money lost, the Turin club are, according to reports, going to be forced into selling star man Ronaldo this summer.

The Portuguese sensation is on a contract worth £500,000-a-week, meaning Juventus are having to pay out £27million-a-year just to keep hold of their star man.

But if there are no takers for Ronaldo, who is valued at somewhere in the region of £60million to £65million, this summer, it has been claimed that Juventus will explore the possibility of offloading Ramsey instead, despite the Wales international having only been with the club less than a year.

The former Gunners man is the club's second highest paid player, receiving £400,000-a-week, meaning he, too, could be another option that Juventus could explore in an attempt to recoup some of the money that they have lost in the midst of this pandemic.

Though the two-time European Cup winners would not be able to sell Ramsey for a fee in the same region of what Ronaldo would be worth, they would be saving huge amounts on their weekly wage bill.
