Overnight road works will be in place from Monday as Scotland Transerv resurface the A77 at Auchenblane, North of Kirkoswald.
A previous programme to resurface this carriageway was postponed due to 'unforeseen ground conditions'.
Now under a two phase approach Scotland TranServ will deliver carriageway improvements under seven overnight closures from Monday 5th until Sunday 11th of August.
Final resurfacing will be completed under a weekend closure between Friday 16th and Monday 19th of August.
Dayle Gillespie of Scotland TranServ said: “Following the discovery of challenging ground conditions, it was necessary for Scotland TranServ to develop a new resurfacing solution.
“The works will involve foundation strengthening and finally the resurfacing of approximately 0.6 km of existing carriageway.
“We appreciate the patience that drivers have shown and we empathise with the public in relation to any delays during this time.”
Local diversions will be in place and drivers have been warned to allow plenty of additional time for their journeys, particularly those joining the Belfast ferry services at Cairnryan.
From Monday the road will be closed between 8pm and 6am until Sunday.
