The A.J. Green comeback is unfolding as planned before Joe Burrow’s likely arrival

All signs point to Cincinnati Bengals franchise player A.J. Green being fully healthy and ready to go.

Green is healthy and 100 percent, something again confirmed recently by head coach Zac Taylor, according to The Athletic’s Jay Morrison:

“Everything has been positive with A.J Green. He’s fully healthy and he’s working hard. He’s been in Atlanta. It’s all been positive in that regard.”

It’s nice to have a little reaffirmation on the Green front when it comes to his health given the season-long saga that was last year after he got hurt on the opening day of training camp.

And little else about Green is guaranteed right now. There’s no guarantee the two sides get a long-term deal done — though they’re closer with him than Joe Mixon. There’s no guarantee he shows up for offseason workouts at all — and there’s no guarantee those workouts will even happen thanks to the global happenings.

It’s a lot to take in, undoubtedly. But having a little more reassurance that all is well on the Green health front ahead of the team presumably using the first pick on Joe Burrow is a nice way to further the positive offseason vibes.

If Burrow is then the pick, the hype train can really start to get rolling on a wideout of Green’s caliber helping along his development.
