The £90m Bayern Munich transfer decision which is fantastic news for Chelsea and Frank Lampard

Bayern Munich are still interested in Manchester City winger Leroy Sane, executive chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has said.

The City star has been heavily linked with a return to Germany this summer, after finding himself in and out of the team at the Etihad Stadium last season.

Up until now the Bundesliga champions have been put off by the 23-year-old's reported price-tag of £90m, but with Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery no longer at the Allianz Arena they may have no other choice but to meet City's demands.

"The state of things with Sane is that he will return from his holidays this week," Rummenigge said. "While on his vacation he didn’t want to have any talks and wanted to think about his personal plans on his future.

"We have to wait to see if something will happen. It is no secret that we are searching for a winger after [long-time stars] Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben left the club — two players that shaped the face of FC Bayern for many years.

"We are in charge and have to wait on how things will develop."

Even Bayern manager Niko Kovac has refused to rule out a move for the German international.

"He could help us a lot. We’ve seen his skills with the German national squad and with City as well," he said. "I have no idea how fast or slowly it might go with Leroy. Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has been repeating that, too.

"The market needs a certain spark. If one or a few particular players are sold then everything starts to rotate. Spots are all of a sudden available on rosters, these have to be filled. And so everything takes its course."

If Bayern are successful in signing Sane, then it could be great news for Chelsea and Frank Lampard.

The Bundesliga giants have been interested in Blues wonderkid Callum Hudson-Odoi and reportedly had a bid in the region of £20m bid rejected by the west London outfit.

Although football.london have previously reported that Bayern are still keen on the youngster, even with their interest in Sane, it's looking good for Chelsea and Lampard's attempts to keep hold of the teenager.

Hudson-Odoi is ready to commit his future to the Blues and that fits into Lampard's vision for the future.

"I will pay a lot of care and attention to Callum, because of the contractual position he is in, to try to get him to stay and not with any lies or any false statements to him," Lampard told Chelseafc.com.
