The 9 best new pubs and restaurants in Dublin in 2019: The best places to eat in the capital

JD Wetherspoon's pub The Silver Penny - Abbey Street

Pub operator JD Wetherspoon's newest pub in Dublin city opened on July 9, 2019.

The pub also serves food every day from opening until 11pm and specialises in real ales as well as craft and world beers.

It also caters for family dining with children welcome in the pub up until 9pm during the week when accompanied by an adult.

One Society - Lower Gardiner Street

This little gem opened on Gardiner Street in December 2018.

It has a wide-ranging menu for all moods, with speciality coffee, all day brunch till 3pm, pizza, as well as wine and beer available all day.

As well as this, they kindly donate 10 cents from every hot drink to neighbouring Temple Street Children's Hospital.

Chimac - Aungier Street

Opening it's doors in May of this year, this venue specialises in Korean fried chicken and Irish craft beers - not a bad combo!

It's also perfect for the spontaneous among us, as it requires no reservations, just pop down when suits it suits best.

Bar 1661 - Green Street

This was a hugely anticipated opening, as it is Dublin's first Poitín bar.

For the espresso martini or Irish coffee fans among us, they have a cold brewed coffee that uses poitín as the base and locally roasted coffee.

It is open from 12pm to 12am during weekdays and till 1am on weekends.

Jam Park - Swords

(Jam Park facebook)

Consider this one to be a giant adult playground and you'll have a pretty good idea of what it is.

Jam Park opened its doors at the start of May on the site of the old Wright Venue in Swords.

It is a one-stop shop where you can eat, drink, play and dance, day and night under one roof.

There is also a selection of private rooms for parties, karaoke, meetings or just hanging out with friends.

The Well - Stephen's Green

(The Well Facebook)

This is a slightly different pick for the list, as the Well, opened in Mid-July, is a multi-functional venue has opened in Dublin.

It includes a café-bar, restaurant, coffee shop and event space for any occasion.
