The 8 food and drink stalls you have to visit at Cardiff’s Christmas Market 2019

It's one of the highlights of the festive season - and it's back for another year.

The wooden chalet doors at Cardiff's Christmas Market swung open for the first time on Thursday, November 14, and there's plenty of great food to get stuck into.

There are also loads of stalls selling gifts and food and drink produce to take away - such as cheeses and spirits -  and there's also a festive bar to sit down in with some of your tasty treats.

You can read more about the market, including opening times and where to park, here .

Here are the 8 best foodie stalls, in no particular order.

This stall serves up a range of French cuisine.

Their speciality is tartiflette, served with a slice pork shoulder. It costs £7 and comes with pork shoulder, potatoes, bacon and melted cheese.

You can also ask for a vegetarian version and they also sell French onion soup.

If you've got a sweet tooth, you have to stop at the Chock Shop stall.

For £2.50, you can get a single brownie, or for £3 you can add cream and chocolate sauce.

The chocolate brownies come in a whole range of flavours including chocolate orange, peanut butter and white chocolate and raspberry.

The Melted Cheese Company

The ever-popular Raclette and potatoes (Richard Swingler)

A popular stop on the market rounds, the Melted Cheese Company always brings in a crowd.

Stall owner Simon Matthews believes it has something to do with the theatre of the food - as well as the great product.

The stall sells mac and cheese, nachos and cheesy garlic bread - but their main event is the Raclette and baby garlic pototoes.

You'll spot this stall easily, it's the one with the crowd of people mesmerised by all the gooey cheese.

Moosehead Bierkeller

The Ferrero Rocher hot chocolate (Richard Swingler)

If you're looking for a warming beverage, or something more boozy, this drinks hut is the perfect stop off.

They sell a range of mulled wines and ciders but if it's a particularly cold winter's day, there's no better way to warm up than with a Ferrero Rocher hot chocolate.

It'll set you back £5 and comes with cream, gold topping and a Ferrero Rocher.

Cottage sweets
