Chelsea spent big in the summer transfer window.
The Blues shelled out more than £200million on seven new signings, with that money going on five players in the end, with Thiago Silva and Malang Sarr arriving on free transfers.
Kai Havertz was the big-money signing, joining for around £75.8million, although the price tags for Ben Chilwell and Timo Werner were not too far behind.
That transfer spend has seen pressure ramped up on head coach Frank Lampard to deliver this season, although the defensive issues of last year remain in place, with the Blues shipping nine goals in five games in the Premier League to sit with just eight points so far.
The £200million splurge has seen the value of Chelsea's squad sky-rocket from an estimated £513million in September last year to £696million now.
The figures come from the CIES Football Observatory, who analyse the transfer fee expenditure to assemble the squads of all of Europe's top five league teams.
Chelsea's spend means their squad is now the fifth costliest in the top five leagues in Europe, moving them up three places from last year, having overtaken Liverpool, Real Madrid and Juventus.
However, the Blues remain behind two of their Premier League rivals for the most expensive squads assembled.
Manchester City top the list with a squad worth £945.5million, while Manchester United are third on the list with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's squad worth around £770million.
