A government interactive map has revealed the seven Nottinghamshire neighbourhoods with the lowest Covid infection rates.
The areas all have rates below 150 per 100,000 people, which falls far below the national average of just under 500.
Latest data shows infection rates are falling across every district in the county apart from Mansfield, which has seen a small weekly rise. It is now among the top 10 areas in the country which have seen the biggest weekly rise in rates.
The seven neighbourhoods have reported the lowest percentage of positive tests in terms of their population in the seven days leading to January 14.
Southwell has the lowest rate in Nottinghamshire at 94.8. By comparison, Sutton Central and Leamington's infection rate has now reached 1,118.9 per 100,000 people.
Here are the neighbourhoods in Nottingham with the lowest infection rates:
- Southwell - 94.8 (seven cases)
- Gamston and Holme Pierrepont - 148.9 (13 cases)
- Lady Bay - 117.2 (ten cases)
- Cropwell Bishop, Kinoulton and Upper Broughton - 139.6 (eight cases)
- Worksop North - 139.9 (13 cases)
- Ranskill, Everton and Gringley - 138.4 (11 cases)
- Retford North - 141.3 (nine cases)
Seven–day rates are expressed per 100,000 population and are calculated by dividing the seven-day count by the area population and multiplying by 100,000.
The figures are based on tests carried out in laboratories (pillar one of the Government’s testing programme) and in the wider community (pillar two).
The map is released by the government and shows rates in every area across Nottinghamshire and the rest of the country.
