The 7 Arsenal players Mikel Arteta will be without for north London derby against Tottenham

For the first time ever, Arsenal visit the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

It's the first north London derby in N17 since the Lilywhites left the old White Hart Lane site and the Gunners will be hoping to get the win that would boost their Europa League hopes.

Furthermore, it will be the first-ever meeting between Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta and Spurs boss Jose Mourinho.

Tottenham v Arsenal: Premier League match preview

Unlike his opposite number, Arteta has experienced this fixture before as a player, but never as a head coach and is looking forward to the game.

"They are all different. It depends a lot on whether you win or lose," he told reporters. "Obviously we had some really nice ones playing at the Emirates against them and beating them, I have some really, really good memories of that.

"It's such a special occasion. Rivalry in football when you take it in a positive way brings energy, passion and a city together. It's such a beautiful thing. We are privileged to have big teams in the city.

"It's a shame we don't have the fans with us to enjoy it."

The Gunners will stay above their bitter rivals in the Premier League table as long as they avoid defeat, but Arteta will have to do so without young striker Eddie Nketiah.

This is because the England U21 international is serving the first of a three-game suspension after being sent-off in the 1-1 draw with Leicester City earlier in the week.

Nketiah is one of five Arsenal players Arteta will definitely be without because of suspension or injury.

Calum Chambers, Bernd Leno, Gabriel Martinelli and Pablo Mari are all sidelined and are likely to miss the remainder of the season - although the German goalkeeper is the closest to a return.

The other absentees are solely down to Arteta.

When asked 'could Mesut Ozil or Matteo Guendouzi be involved?' he responded by saying: "No, no updates sorry."

So it would appear that Ozil and Guendouzi will join the aforementioned quintet as the seven players Arteta will be without for the north London derby against Tottenham
