The 6 most exciting games on the Jets’ schedule

The Jets schedule is out, which has fans eagerly looking forward to the 2019 season.

As you can see in the tweet below, Gang Green has some exciting games on the docket, including a few prime time matchups. Rivalries will be renewed reunions featuring uniform changes will be held. The storylines are endless.

With that said, let’s take a look at the six most exciting games on the Jets’ schedule in 2019.

No. 6: Week 16 vs. Pittsburgh Steelers, 1 p.m.

Le’Veon Bell gets to face his former team for the first time in Week 16 at home, against the Steelers. The back already has the game circled on his calendar.

Whïle Bell left Pittsburgh on a sour note and there is definitely some hard feelings on both sides of the aisle, this game could mean so much more than a Bell-Steelers reunion.

The Jets plan to contend this season, so Week 16 may have some playoff implications in store for the two AFC teams.

No. 5 Week 5 at Philadelphia Eagles, 1 p.m.

The Jets haven’t seen the Eagles since they lost a close game at home during the Ryan Fitzpatrick era in 2015. Since then, the Eagles have made the playoffs twice, including raising the Lombardi Trophy against the Jets’ bitter rivals.

While Philadephia is only a short train ride away, the Jets will have their first big road test of the season coming off of a bye. This game could be a huge test for Adam Gase coming off a week of rest.

No. 4: Week 6 vs. Dallas Cowboys, 4:25 p.m.

This primetime matchup with the Cowboys has Jim Nantz and Tony Romo written all over it.

The Jets are facing the NFC East this season and will be hosting the Cowboys for the first time since a miraculous comeback win on the 10th anniversary of 9/11.

New York will be tested by the Cowboys strong defensive front and the lethal combination of Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott. It will be a chance for the Jets to show how they stack up against America’s team on primetime Sunday football.

No. 3: Week 1 vs. Buffalo Bills, 1 p.m

In 143 days the Jets will host the Bills at MetLife Stadium for the New York’s home and season opener.

A matchup between best friends and young budding quarterbacks Sam Darnold and Josh Allen will make for exciting television.

The Jets starting their season off against Buffalo could bode well for how they’ll factor against the division for the rest of the season.

No. 2: Week 10 vs. Giants, 1 p.m.

This game is not the battle for New York, but the battle for relevancy. The Jets have watched in the distance, waiting for the chance to shine, but have always been in the shadow of their neighbors.

Now, with the Jets on the rise and the Giants lacking direction, Gang Green will have a chance to make some noise. Sam Darnold will also get the opportunity to make Big Blue regret passing on him.

No. 1: Week 2 vs. Cleveland Browns (Monday Night Football, 8:20 p.m.)

The Jets’ most exciting game of the season is happening Week 2 on Monday Night Football.

With both the Jets and Browns on the rise and both teams both seemingly finding their quarterbacks, it could be a rivalry in the making. Sam Darnold vs. Baker Mayfield; who is the better quarterback from the 2018 draft?

This game also marks Odell Beckham Jr.’s return to New York for the first time after being traded away by the Giants.
