The 5 areas of Leeds with the most Covid-19 cases mapped out

These are the six areas in Leeds with the highest Covid-19 rates, according to government data.

The update published on the government’s coronavirus interactive map outlines the number of cases and rates in different areas across the country.

It indicates that in the seven days to February 11, there are six areas throughout the city with over 25 cases and infection rates of 300.0.

On the coronavirus interactive map, areas shaded in white indicate the lowest category possible and areas in purple indicate the highest infection rate.

Although areas in Leeds are still recording scores of new daily cases, there is a strong indication that the lockdown restrictions are working and the number of cases is falling.

Areas such as Collingham, Rigton & Harewood, Scarcroft, Shadwell & Scholes, Roundhay West and Menston & Burley Moor, recorded less than three positive coronavirus cases.

Latest data shows that the city's current infection rate is 168.8 - down from 209.8 the previous week.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson is preparing to set out his “road map” for relaxing measures on February 22.

But he has indicated that taking a cautious approach by warning that there is an increased chance of new and concerning variants emerging if infections remain high.
