Tottenham have been handed a transfer boost in their bid to sign Timothy Castagne.
The right-back has starred for Serie A side Atalanta this season after Italians impressed on their way to the quarter-finals of the Champions League before losing to Paris Saint-Germain.
The 24-year-old's form has led to links aplenty with clubs around Europe, with Tottenham said to be in the mix.
And now Atalanta are close to a transfer move which could pave the way for Castagne's departure.
Standard Liege full-back Mergim Vojvoda has confirmed that he is on the verge of completing a move to the Serie A team, with the 25-year-old seen as a replacement for Castagne.
“Atalanta representatives have come to Belgium two or three times to see me,” Vojvoda told Gazeta Ole, per Football Italia.
“I agreed terms with them and I now expect the two clubs to work out the details together. We’ll know after their meeting on Monday. "There are another three clubs interested in me too, but so far Atalanta are definitely the best prospect.”
The deal for Vojvoda is expected to cost Atalanta in the region of £5 million but Castagne's potential transfer out of the club would be much higher, with the defender reportedly valued at £18 million.
Jose Mourinho is believed to be on the lookout for a right-back after Kyle Walker-Peters' move to Southampton, with Serge Aurier having also been linked with AC Milan.
