A spike in coronavirus cases in Ayrshire has led to a decrease in the number of towns and villages that have suppressed the virus.
New figures from today show that 50 areas out of 91 have low prevalence of the deadly virus compared to 61 last week.
The news emerges as one Ayrshire zone was revealed as having the highest Covid case rate in Scotland.
Ayrshire as a whole reported 49 new cases in the past 24 hours with 15,904 positive tests being detected since the pandemic began.
The number of people in NHS Ayrshire & Arran hospitals remains at 48. ICU numbers remain below five.
Two more deaths have been recorded across Scotland; none of which are from Ayrshire.
There have been 484 new cases have been recorded with the nation's total now at 209,552.
But cases are so low in a number of Ayrshire areas they've been classes as 'suppressed' to protect patient confidentiality.
