The 5 undroppable Tottenham players Jose Mourinho cannot be without in the top-four race

Jose Mourinho will be praying that there are no more injuries to his Tottenham team over the rest of the season.

Losing Harry Kane and Moussa Sissoko on New Year's Day to hamstring and knee injuries respectively, the head coach was dealt a further blow earlier in the week when it was confirmed that Son Heung-min had sustained a fracture to his right arm in the win over Aston Villa.

The Lilywhites are currently competing in three competitions and Mourinho needs all his players fit and firing at present as it is a crucial time in the season.

Looking well out of the top-four race back in November when he took over as they were 12 points behind the final spot, Spurs can leapfrog Chelsea in fourth on Saturday afternoon providing that they record all three points in the crunch clash at Stamford Bridge.

Mourinho claimed after Wednesday's defeat against RB Leipzig that the likes of Giovani Lo Celso, Steven Bergwijn and Lucas Moura were "absolutely dead" but the limited numbers at present means that he cannot really rotate.

So, amid injuries to Kane and Son, who are the players that he needs to keep in his team at present as they look to finish the season on a high?

football.london takes a look

Giovani Lo Celso

The club made his loan move permanent last month and it's easy to see why going on his performances in 2020.

Initially playing in a more advanced role for the team following his move from Real Betis, the Argentine is now in the middle of the park and running games for Mourinho's side.

Lo Celso has been in sensational form of late and he is most definitely going to have a big impact for Spurs between now and May.

Steven Bergwijn

Bergwijn made an instant impression at Spurs following his move from PSV as he netted on his debut against Man City.

The Dutch international has caught the eye in his first few games for the club with his speed and driving runs at defences.

Spurs' limited numbers in attack means that he will play week in, week out and he's another that will prove key over the coming weeks.

Lucas Moura

In and out of the team under Mauricio Pochettino at the start of the season, Lucas has become a key player in Mourinho's side.

In fact, he's the only player to have played in all 21 of the head coach's games for the Lilywhites so far.

Mourinho really cannot afford to give the player a rest at present and he will remain in the side either through the middle or on the right wing.

Spurs are desperate for goals at the minute and Lucas will be hoping to improve on his tally of five under Mourinho.

Toby Alderweireld

Alderweireld is another player who has featured prominently under Mourinho after making 20 appearances.

The 30-year-old is Spurs' best centre-back and he is the first choice at the back ahead of Davinson Sanchez and Jan Vertonghen.

Whereas his fellow Belgium international has been far from his best this term, Alderweireld has been as consistent as ever and he must remain in the side if they are to finish the season in style.

Dele Alli

Far from his best over the past 18 months, Alli enjoyed an upturn in form following Mourinho's appointment in November.

The goals started to flow as he netted four in his first four games under the head coach, but he has only scored once since the turn of the year.

The absence of Kane and Son means that Alli needs to stay in the team as he has the ability to pop up in the box and score at crucial times.

Alli's importance was there for all to see when he came on and changed the game against Southampton in the FA Cup fourth round replay and Spurs really could do with a repeat of his display over the next few weeks.
