Move over, butter yellow: the trend forecasters at Pinterest have revealed the five colours set to dominate fashion, beauty, style and culture in 2026, and there’s a hint of lemon in sight.
According to the Pinterest Palette report, the five shades that will take over your feed this year are persimmon, wasabi, cool blue, plum noir, and jade, sparking a “bold, expressive and optimistic” sartorial era. The beige palette of 2020 clean girls is finally over.
“This year’s colours feel deeper and more emotionally driven, with more intention behind them,” Pinterest’s creative strategy lead and trendspotter Louise Khong told PEDESTRIAN.TV.
“People aren’t just looking for a pretty shade for the sake of it — they want colours that serve a purpose.”
Khong said that these colours reflect a broader cultural shift.
“There’s a lot of chaos and noise in the world, and colour becomes a form of self-expression that helps people navigate that,” she explained.
To form the year’s trending palette, Pinterest analyses over 600 million users’ saves and searches over the past two years. The company also uses visual learning models to analyse what colours are appearing in saved pins, and then layers in human validation.
While last year’s Pinterest Palette felt cosy and warm, with colours including cherry red, butter yellow, dill green, indigo aura and alpine oat predicted to be the colours of the year (and we most certainly saw cherry red and butter yellow everywhere), 2026 is predicted to be louder.
Khong explained that this year’s deeper, complex palette ties in with emotional expression and intentional styling, whether it’s across fashion, beauty or home. “People are choosing colours based on how they want to feel: calm, bold, grounded, energised.”
According to Khong, this year’s Pinterest Palette will encourage people to step outside of their comfort zone. Outfits, makeup looks and home decor is going to get bolder as people start taking more risks.
“It feels like an evolution of the ‘dopamine dressing’ trend from a few years ago — using colour to express who you are and the vibe you want to project,” she explained.

Cool Blue
If cool blue was a person, it would be fresh, focussed and understated — the calm overachiever. It’s an extension of last year’s Pinterest Palette colour: indigo aura, which was more of a warmer, purple-toned blue. However, the two colours fit a very similar aesthetic.
“Cool blue appears in frosted beauty looks and clean, glossy home styling,” Khong pointed out.
It doesn’t just appear in beauty, however. While ‘icy nails winter’ is up 230 per cent in search on Pinterest, ‘glacier aesthetic’ is up 35 per cent, and ‘cool blue’ has increased by 85 per cent.

Plum Noir
This shade is reminiscent of the sexy villain in a spy film. Think femme fatale: moody, mysterious and dramatic, almost vampy. It’s up 220 per cent in searches on Pinterest, so it’s in high demand, too.
Plum noir is the more sensual older sister to the burgundy tones of cherry red, a Pinterest Palette shade from 2025. However, this year’s darker edition has an added depth.
“Plum noir has main-character energy,” Khong described.
From dark, smokey makeup looks to a wardrobe fit for a protagonist, plum noir is predicted to dominate this winter. Sultry-looking furniture also seems to be a vibe this year, with ‘plum living room ideas’ up 240 per cent in Pinterest searches.

Persimmon
On the complete opposite end of the spectrum is persimmon, a vibrant shade bursting with summer energy. Khong gave it the “joyful optimist” persona of the palette.
“Persimmon shows up in summer outfits as well as ceramics and tableware,” she said.
The outfit most in demand? Persimmon suits. There’s been an increase of 105 per cent for ‘orange colour suits’ searched on Pinterest — right on time for Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner‘s red carpet appearance in their matching orange Chrome Hearts at the Marty Supreme LA premiere.
It’s also off the back of Taylor Swift‘s album The Life Of A Showgirl. The teal album had big persimmon orange lettering spelling out the album, as well as a bright orange vinyl, and we all know the cultural impact the singer has.

Jade
Jade is a softer, more grounded shade in the 2026 Pinterest Palette.
It’s a quietly confident colour that Khong personified as the “grounded minimalist”.
It’s a popular colour for nails, with search for ‘jade marble nails’ having increased 450 per cent. ‘Jade accessories’ is also up 135 per cent, so we’re expecting to see a lot of colourful-yet-calming bags and jewellery emerge this year.

Wasabi
On the complete other end of the spectrum is wasabi (AKA chartreuse), a bold, high-voltage shade that is the most polarising colour in the palette. Ever since we had our ‘brat girl summer’ in 2024/2025 (thank you, Charli xcx), this vibrant green has been growing in popularity.
In terms of fashion, Prada is the design house leading the charge on wasabi’s comeback. The shade was woven throughout numerous pieces in the brand’s SS26 runway: on bubble skirts, coats, shirts, dresses, and even gloves.
Khong labelled this shade as “the chaotic creative”, and acknowledged it’s an acquired taste. Personally, I love the fact that bolder colours like this one are finally getting their time to shine.
