Charity shops are a fashion budget's best friend and according to one woman who picked up items for just £1 they shouldn't be underestimated.
Avoiding fast fashion, looking out for the environment and supporting charitable causes are all benefits of a trip to a local store but is it worth it?
A conversation on Facebook started with one person sharing pictures of a fashion hall that included dresses, trousers and tops all for £1 and ended with almost 700 people sharing tips and savings.
From bargain wedding dresses to homeware and £5 shopping challenges for kids, these savers agree that bargains in high street charity shops are worth the time spent browsing and have shared their advice.

The original post said: "Never underestimate charity shops. Apart from helping their causes you reuse and help environment too.
"Each of these pieces except shoes cost one pound. I adore the dresses."
One mum shared a budget-friendly tip for fashion-loving kids when she said: "We love charity shops! My girls, 12 & 14, throw a fit if I go to a charity shop without them.
"We do £5 outfit challenges all the time, if they need or want something THEY chose to go to charity shops first before going in to town"
One shopper proved that looking around was the best way to find a good deal and said: "We have charity shops on the same road that go from cheap as chips to bordering ridiculous!
"I bought Armani shorts for £1 last week & the shop 3 doors down had a Burberry duffle coat for £89.00 !"
Another person suggested organisation is the key to finding bargains and said: "Years ago I moved into a flat from a homeless shelter.
"I wrote a list of 10 things I needed and was determined to just go to charity shops so I could help others like I’d been helped myself.
"My friend had a small bet that I couldn’t get it all in one visit to the town as we both appreciate that they don’t always have what you want lol. I came home with all on my list!!
"It was a varied list from salt n pepper containers to a lampshade. All of it cost under £15 ... I was so happy"
A newlywed woman said: "I got my wedding dress that I wore 2 weeks ago from a charity shop and got sooo many compliments.
"It's duchess satin and covered in pearls lace and sequins. Felt amazing in it and didn't break the bank at £100!"
Another shopper said times have changed with charity shops and said: "Absolutely gorgeous!! I love charity shops the amount of stuff I have got from them and they have had tags on like they new is unbelievable."
She recalled: "I remember when I was younger and I got the miky taken out of me, now it's the in thing."
