The 4 strikers Chelsea are targeting in the January transfer window to challenge Tammy Abraham

Chelsea once again struggled to make an impact at the top end of the pitch against Brighton & Hove Albion on New Year's Day.

The Blues were forced to settle for a point from their trip to the south coast despite leading through Cesar Azpilicueta's first half strike.

They had to share the spoils after Alireza Jahanbakhsh scored a stunning overhead kick six minutes from time.

Chelsea had more possession at the Amex and had 16 shots during the match, but only five were on target.

It is becoming a bit of an issue for head coach Frank Lampard and there is little surprise that the Blues are being linked with a number of strikers in the January transfer window.

Here we take a look at four they could sign.

Timo Werner

RB Leipzig striker has been linked with a move to the Premier League on a number of occasions in the past.

Liverpool have previously been interested in the German who is now attracting interest from both Chelsea and Manchester United.

the 23-year-old has 23 goals in 25 appearances for the Bundesliga outfit so far this season and would be available for a fee of around £51million.

Reports are that Chelsea re keeping tabs on his Leipzig situation.

Fyodor Chalov

A relatively unknown name, but would be a cheaper alternative to some other strikers out there.

The Russian frontman is not what you would call a prolific striker with just six goals to his name in the Russian Premier Liga for CSKA Moscow this season.

He does, however, have five assists to his name though, suggesting he has a more all-round game to offer.

He would be available for around £20million.

Moussa Dembele

Another who has been linked with a move to the Premier League in the past.

Has previously plied his trade at Fulham and Celtic and is playing a starring role for Lyon in Ligue Un.

He has notched 10 goals for the French side so far this season but Lyon will be hoping to keep hold of him until the summer at least.

Olivier Giroud could be used as a makeweight in any potential deal.

Callum Wilson

Bournemouth striker was heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge little over a year ago.

Links between the Cherries frontman and Chelsea have dried up of late, but with money now available in the January transfer window and next summer, the Blues could make another move.

His form has dipped this season, but would certainly add competition for places up front and undoubtedly has an eye for goal.
