The 37 areas of Nottinghamshire where Covid-19 rates are still above the national average

New data shows 37 areas of Nottinghamshire still have a Covid-19 infection rate above the national average.

The rolling infection rate for England currently stands at 24.4 per 100,000 people for the seven days ending April 20.

Dozens of areas across Notts now have 'suppressed' rates of the virus but the highest rate, currently in Retford North, now stands at 188.4.

Areas around Mansfield also have significantly higher rates than most, with Newgate and Carr Bank at 105.7.

In total, 100 out of 138 areas in Nottinghamshire are now classed as having a suppressed rate.

Suppressed rates occur when an area has less than three active cases and for confidentiality purposes, the figure is not given.

It comes as the second stage of the roadmap is well under way with non-essential businesses opening up and groups of up to six or two households able to meet outdoors.

The third stage is due to commence no earlier than May 17.
