The £35 food box from Morrisons with next day delivery

Morrisons has introduced an initiative to help shoppers get essentials delivered hassle-free.

Panic-buying has led to a shortage of stock and delivery slots across most supermarkets, but Morrisons has brought in a scheme to address the problem.

Under the initiative, customers can buy a box full of food, though they cannot choose what is inside.

The contents of the boxes are random, but the supermarket chain has promised they are full of essentials.

Two types of boxes are available - one for meat eaters, the other for vegetarians.

Both the vegetarian and the meat eaters' boxes are priced at £35 including delivery.

Morrisons says the meat eaters' box contains "a selection of food including fresh meat, plus essential household items".

And inside the vegetarian box you will find "a selection of food suitable for vegetarians, plus essential household items".

If you want to order a box, you will need to create an account on the Morrisons website by entering your name, email address and a password.

You will need to tell Morrisons which type of box you would like. You can get up to two boxes per order.

You can select a delivery date that suits you. Morrisons says it should be able to deliver the next day if you order before 3pm.

Your food box will be delivered by DPD, which will send you a confirmation including a tracking number.
