The €32m transfer that gives Everton financial clout to beat Arsenal to Wilfried Zaha signing

Everton have moved to the front of the queue for Wilfried Zaha's signature this summer.

For much of the summer it looked that if the Crystal Palace winger was going to go anywhere, it would be to Arsenal.

However, the Gunners never got near the Eagles' huge £80million valuation of the Ivorian forward, making an offer in the region of £40million for him.

And now it appears the Gunners have turned their attentions elsewhere, with a £72million move for Lille winger Nicolas Pepe close to completion.

Everton have reportedly lodged a £55million bid for Zaha, which may not be enough to prise him away from Selhurst Park, but the Toffees could return with an even bigger bid.

That is because they will soon have a bit more money at their disposal.

According to l'Equipe and RMC, as per Get French Football , Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye will undergo a medical with Paris Saint-Germain on Monday ahead of a €32million move to the French capital.

PSG have held a long-standing interest in Gueye, who has been with Everton for the past three seasons, playing an integral role in the team in that time. The French champions saw a bid knocked back during the January transfer window and have returned for the 29-year-old this summer.

Gueye amassed 99 appearances for the Merseysiders, scoring three times. He was named the club's joint player of the year for the 2018/19 season.
