The £30k gamble on Anibale Fly for the 2019 Grand National as odds slashed

Punters are starting to back Anibale Fly to win the 2019 Grand National with one bookmaker receiving a bet of £20,000.

Another has put on £10,000 for the JP McManus-owned horse to triumph in the world’s most famous jump race.

That is despite the fact that Anibale Fly has had a late change of jockey, with original rider Barry Geraghty breaking his leg on Friday after falling from Peregrine Run during the Topham Chase.

Mark Walsh has stepped in having been due to ride another McManus horse in Regal Encore - who will now have Jonathan Burke on board at Aintree .

Anibale Fly is currently as short as 9/1 with some bookies, with only favourite Tiger Roll and Rathvinden with shorter odds.

The Andrew Martin-trained nine-year-old was fourth to Tiger Roll in the Grand National in 2018 and also finished runner-up in the Cheltenham Gold Cup last month - having been third in the same race the previous year.
