Jose Mourinho and Tottenham have really made a statement in the summer transfer window so far.
Having strengthened key areas with the additions of Joe Hart, Matt Doherty and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, the Lilywhites then pulled off a major coup with Gareth Bale and Sergio Reguilon joining from Real Madrid.
That was never going to be the end of Mourinho's business in the transfer market, however.
A new striker has been needed for such a long time but it appears that Mourinho will finally bring someone to the club to compete with Harry Kane.
Benfica striker Carlos Vinicius is the man who is going to come in and the head coach will be getting his main striker target.
Having moved for him earlier this summer when the Portuguese side wanted around £50million for his services, Tottenham have since returned for the frontman and agreed on a loan deal for the season worth £2.73m.
The club do have the option to purchase him on a permanent deal at the end of the season for roughly £38m.
football.london understands that the 25-year-old will undergo his medical at Hotspur Way on Friday but his move is not due to be fully completed until Monday.
Spurs will also be hoping to tie up a new centre-back prior to deadline day.
The club were always going to look to strengthen at the back after bringing in a striker and Inter Milan's Milan Skriniar has been heavily tipped to make the move to the capital.
Agreeing on a deal for the Slovakian, who is keen to make the move, has proved to be a bit of a stumbling block so far and football.london understands that the club will return with another approach for the player this weekend.
There is going to have to be some give between the clubs if a deal is to be finalised as the Nerazzurri want £45m for their player, with Spurs looking to spend closer to £32m plus add-ons.
Tottenham do have other options when it comes to signing a new centre-back.
football.london understands that they are also looking at making a move for Juventus' Merih Demiral.
The Turkish international, who spent a large chunk of last season out injured with a cruciate ligament injury, has been linked with a move to the Premier League in the past given his lack of playing time in Turin.
There is also interest in Chelsea's Antonio Rudiger before the deadline, although a move for the player is believed to be rather complicated.
The centre-back has fallen way out of favour under Frank Lampard at Stamford Bridge and a move away from west London could very well come to fruition before the deadline.
The aforementioned players are Spurs' three main targets when it comes to centre-back, with Skriniar the top choice, but the club will be open to any opportunities for other centre-backs that arise late in the window.
