The Premier League season may feel like it has only just begun but it is less than three months until the January transfer window opens, with clubs across the country preparing to bolster their squads.
While the winter window does not usually see the same sort of fees floated around as during the summer months, there are plenty of clubs - Manchester United included - that need to improve their form and will see the mid-season window as vital to their campaign.
For those clubs looking to buy economically, there are a number of players who could be available for a bargain price due to the fact that their deals with their current clubs are due to expire at the end of the campaign.
Among them are Tottenham trio Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertonghen and Christian Eriksen, all of whom were heavily linked with a departure during the transfer window that has just passed.
Other names include Paris Saint-Germain full-back Layvin Kurzawa, Borussia Dortmund’s World Cup final-scoring midfielder Mario Gotze and Hull City ace Jarrod Bowen.
