The 21 Manchester United players who could be at 2022 World Cup in Qatar

There will be multiple Manchester United players representing the club at the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup next year.

The World Cup will take place in the middle of the domestic calendar instead of being held across summer as usual, though.

There were many United stars who played at this summer's European Championship — including Luke Shaw, Harry Maguire, Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho (who was then a Borussia Dortmund player), who all played their part in helping England reach the final of the competition.

England qualified for the World Cup across the international break, but how many United players in total will be at the tournament?

The MEN has taken a closer look at the Reds' stars that will compete for football's most coveted prize next year.

Only 13 teams have officially qualified for the World Cup and Brazil, France, Spain, England and the Netherlands are among those.

And United have 13 players that could potentially play at the World Cup for those nations, if selected:

  • David de Gea
  • Dean Henderson
  • Harry Maguire
  • Raphael Varane
  • Luke Shaw
  • Alex Telles
  • Aaron Wan-Bissaka
  • Paul Pogba
  • Jesse Lingard
  • Fred
  • Donny van de Beek
  • Anthony Martial
  • Marcus Rashford
  • Mason Greenwood
  • Jadon Sancho

There are other players at the club that will compete through the play-offs to help their respective countries qualify for next year's World Cup, though, and those nations include Portugal, Sweden and Scotland:

  • Diogo Dalot
  • Bruno Fernandes
  • Cristiano Ronaldo
  • Victor Lindelof
  • Anthony Elanga
  • Scott McTominay

The play-offs will take place from March 24 to 29 next year.
