The 2026 Polestar 4 Has Landed In America

  • The 2026 Polestar 4 is now on sale in the U.S.
  • While the outgoing model was imported from China, the 2026 model comes from South Korea.

The 2026 Polestar 4 electric crossover is now on sale in the United States–that’s the one without a rear window. The biggest piece of information here is that for the 2026 model, U.S.-spec cars will be imported from South Korea instead of China, as was the case until recently.

So, if you want to impress a stranger while sipping a refreshing drink at the bar, you can tell them that the 2026 Polestar 4 is a Swedish-designed EV that’s built in South Korea by Renault specifically for the North American market (and the local Korean market). Oh, and Polestar is a Chinese-owned company. That’s globalization for you, I guess.

The Polestar 4 doesn't have a rear window. The rear-view mirror shows a video feed from a camera placed on the roof.

For those who are planning to buy a new Polestar 4, there’s little to no difference between the 2025 and 2026 models, though. The Pilot Pack, which was previously a $1,500 option on the single-motor versions, is now standard across the lineup, but its price has been included in the MSRP, so the pricing remains unchanged across the board. The specs are also the same.

All Polestar 4 trims come with the same 100-kilowatt-hour battery pack that enables an EPA-estimated range of 300 miles on the single-motor version. Meanwhile, the dual-motor variant gets 270 miles of range on a full charge. Speaking of charging, the coupe-like crossover can accept up to 200 kW of power from a DC fast charger, while the onboard AC charger can send up to 11 kW of power from a Level 2 charger.

The base 2026 Polestar 4 Long Range Single Motor starts at $57,800 (including shipping) and comes with a rear-mounted drive unit that’s good for 272 horsepower and 253 pound-feet of torque. This version can accelerate from zero to 60 miles per hour in 6.9 seconds.

Standard equipment includes an Android Automotive OS infotainment system, 20-inch wheels, a panoramic glass roof, adaptive cruise control, a 360-degree parking camera, a heat pump, an eight-way electrically adjustable driver seat, a six-way adjustment for the passenger seat, Pilot Assist, and Lane Change Assist.

The optional Plus Pack costs an additional $5,500 and is available on both single- and dual-motor versions. It adds a head-up display, automatically dimming exterior mirrors, 12-way adjustable seats, electrically reclinable rear seats, three-zone climate control, heated steering wheel and rear seats, and a Harman Kardon Premium sound system.

The Long Range Dual Motor starts at $64,300. Thanks to its two electric motors, the output rises to 544 hp and 506 lb-ft of torque, while the zero to 60 mph time drops to 3.7 seconds.

The Performance Pack is only available on the Dual Motor version. It costs $4,500 and comes with goodies like 22-inch wheels, a Polestar Engineered chassis tune, Brembo four-piston brake calipers in Swedish gold coupled with Polestar performance brake discs, performance-oriented summer tires, and Swedish gold seat belts and valve stem caps.

The Polestar 4, which is confusingly positioned between the Polestar 2 sedan and the Polestar 3 premium SUV, is probably the most important model in the automaker’s U.S. lineup, now that the entry-level electric sedan can no longer be ordered stateside. This makes the Polestar 4 the cheapest new Polestar in North America, so there’s a lot resting on its shoulders.

The U.S.-spec 2026 Polestar 4 will go into production in Busan, South Korea, this summer, with first deliveries expected this fall.
