The 2022 Scottish Festival of Motoring promises to be a treat

PETROLHEADS and families can look forward to a bigger and better Scottish Festival of Motoring this summer, say bosses.

Despite the impact of the coronavirus crisis, the 2021 event was still a huge success. Now it is all systems go for the second festival at the Royal Highland Centre, Ingliston, Edinburgh, on Sunday, July 17.

Organisers believe they will be able to enhance the quality and number of vehicles on show, and promise there will be something for everyone to enjoy.

Already booked and raring to wow the crowds with his motorcycle stunts is triple world champion Steve Colley. Back again due to popular demand will be The Supercar Passenger Experience and Drifting Demonstrations.

And as well as having even more car clubs lined up for the 2022 festival, motorcycle groups will also be taking part. The Dyno rolling road, run by Ignition Breakdown Recovery, which was extremely popular last year, is returning to enthral the crowds.

There will be live music, trade exhibitors and a kids’ zone to keep all ages entertained. Festival tickets cost £20 each for adults, £10 each for children aged 11 to 16, or £50 for a family ticket for two adults and two kids aged 11 to 16.

Youngsters aged 10 and under can go along for free – although all children must be accompanied by an adult.

You can go to www.festivalofmotoring.co.uk to find out more. The festival’s Mark Burns said: “We’re really looking forward to welcoming huge numbers of visitors to what will be a highlight of the automotive calendar.”
