The 2019 Premier League table revealed - how Newcastle rank from just this year's results

Newcastle United have picked up exactly the same number of points as Champions League finalists Tottenham Hotspur in 2019 so far.

The Magpies finished the 2018-19 season strongly under Rafa Benitez, and have picked up four points from their opening four Premier League games this season, including a 1-0 win over Spurs at their new home thanks to Joelinton's winner.

They have totalled 31 points in the calendar year to date, which ranks them 11th in the table - level with Spurs and Wolves and just three points behind Chelsea.

While Manchester City are slightly behind Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool this season, the champions of England hold a six-point lead for the entirety of 2019.

A table, shown by Transfermarkt, shows Pep Guardiola's side riding high at the top of the table with only one defeat to their name.

There is cause for optimism for Arsenal too, as they sit third in the table, having missed out on Champions League football last season.

Similarly, 2019 has been a great year for Crystal Palace, who have taken more points than the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham to sit fourth in the table.

Everton, too, will have confidence they can break into the Premier League's 'big six' as they sit above Chelsea on goal difference.

We've omitted this year's promoted teams, Sheffield United, Norwich City and Aston Villa, as well as the three relegated sides from last season.

A positive start to the season for Brighton has seen Graham Potter’s side wipe away some of the cobwebs from last season, although there is still reason for them, Watford and Bournemouth to be concerned.

You can see the full table below.
